Angèlica Arvylàs Torner is a Spanish figurative sculptor. With his studio in l'Empordà, the beautiful area that inspires and inspired so many artists of today and past such as Picasso or Dalí, he focuses on the study of the human figure. With a solid base of technique and anatomy, he represents the expression, movement, character, poetry and beauty of the human figure in his sculptures. Going deeper than just obtaining a superficial image, its main objective is to represent the soul, emotion or feelings that any human being, regardless of sex, age or race, may have or feel; and we can see that in his portraits or figure sculptures.
He has been a finalist in many national and international art competitions, for example, the world-renowned ARC International Salon, Art Renewal Center (USA). His sculptures have been shown in major cities in Europe. His work is part of private collections in various countries in Europe, America and Asia, as well as in the public sphere. He was born in Barcelona in 1985, and comes from a Greek and Catalan family. She began her passionate career as a sculptor at the age of 19, learning stone carving with the sculptor Enric Sala in Girona (Spain). After a few months, I would work with him on a sculpture for the public area. After a year, he obtained his first commission also for public space, at the age of 20, from the town where he grew up, Lloret de Mar. He combines that work with his studies at the Escola Superior d'Art d'Olot. , where he studied sculpture for three years. In 2013 she decided to increase her knowledge and learn more about figurative sculpture, so she was accepted and moved to Florence, Italy, to study at the prestigious Florence Academy of Art. He obtained two scholarships from the school during his time there. In 2017 he completed the Sculpture Program and the Ecorché course at the FAA. Currently, based in Spain, she combines her days in the studio working on her sculptures or commissions with teaching sculpture and anatomy classes. He is also part of the jury in some artistic competitions. |
