Sonia Barrientos Valencia was born in Medellín, Colombia. From her youth Sonia began to be interested in painting and the way it allowed her to free her spirit from the problems and concerns that overwhelm everyday life. After having dedicated years to the study of the works, techniques and motifs of the great artists, Sonia found her style in the representation of still life and the construction of spaces, particularly using oil and watercolor.
His greatest inspirers Matisse, Cézanne, Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Monet are reflected in his handling of composition, tonality and the choice of subjects to represent. Sonia was a student of the teachers Estela Ochoa, Libe de Zulategi, Aníbal Gil and Alberto Gonzáles and received art courses at the University of Antioquia. |
