He was born in Cumaná, but his eyes saw the light for the first time in Mochima, Sucre State, Venezuela; He studies at the Cumana School of Plastic Arts and then at the Cristóbal Rojas School of Visual Arts in Caracas; He studied Graphic Design and works as a creative director carrying out various advertising campaigns, product launches and corporate image.
His painting is the result of a careful investigation of the characters of his region, customs and traditions; He reflects his restless wandering from one city to another, his constant alternation with so many different cultures (America, the Caribbean, Europe and Africa). As if he wanted to record the paths traveled in this journey, he discovers the cities and characters through something that identifies them, which may be an important object or the most unusual and banal, which in his hands acquires an unexpected relevance to the become art. We observe in his work as if an introspective examination had led him to be authentic, to decide on a painting of unique simplicity, of a strong color that never finds enough space and overflows through the frame that is part of the work, and in that Marco continues the inspiration, this time that of the poet, who appears to explain with simple words the reason for what is captured, what he represents, what communicates any detail, sometimes insignificant, and that only the eye of a diligent artist perceives, captures and it becomes the center of a work. He is always in constant research and search for materials and textures. Another mark of originality are the stamps, the great ones allude to the theme interpreted, the small ones sign the work. His works are present in private collections and galleries in Venezuela, France, Spain, USA, Holland, Aruba, Germany, among others. We have observed that plasma in his paintings color, the strength of the Caribbean and that poetic realism that one normally attributes to Latin American aesthetics. |
