Bear Higuera, 1966
Spanish realist painter. As a child he begins to show great interest in drawing and painting. Encouraged by his teachers who soon discover his talent and supported by his family, especially his maternal grandmother who provides him with the materials to get started in this world and decides to send him to classes with some local painters. With them, he gets in touch with the most basic techniques of painting, but it can be said that Jose is basically self-taught. He begins with landscapes in which we can inevitably see the influence of the creative movements of the time, which he discovers and studies and with which he forges his own style, which we can frame within realism. His first exhibitions generated great interest and this, added to the initial sales, encouraged him to continue in the art business, an unpredictable and difficult path that challenges him to excel and improve. In these first years he works exclusively for the Madrid Art and Auctions room, where he gains experience and makes the necessary contacts to continue devoting himself to painting, and hold numerous exhibitions in the United States, Europe and Asia. He currently resides in Cantabria, where he continues to paint reality. |
