About me: I was born in 2003, I am 22 years old and I mainly dedicate myself to sculpture with ceramics, but I
I am in a stage where I am looking for the hybridization of materials with ceramics in a single piece, both in painting as in sculpture, always breaking the academic form of the art institute and seeking to add textures in my pieces to connect people with their present moment, to be aware through the senses. Trying to complement the two-dimensional with the three-dimensional, I am drawn to street art but also to the pre-Hispanic tradition and culture, where I intervene my ceramic pieces with spray, decals and paints varied, with these materials I make my "graffiti" on the sculpture. I invite anyone to join the tactile experience by touching the sculptures or many times interacting with them in situ, interactive pieces that seeks to break the aesthetic experience only as something visual, which can reinforce this connection with the feel. In addition, my work reflects on a cause, migration, violence and the sense of identity are themes that I address in my work, my art is political. My family is from Cuba but I am Mexican, I want to emphasize that the Topics such as migration, poverty, hunger, trafficking and homicide are issues that my work covers. often with satire that creates scandals. I have worked on various projects with the support of Arta Ceramics, where I started practicing ceramics at the age of 14. However, it was from the age of 18 that I started to do it in a more professional way with the support of Gloria Mayeli and Marta Ruiz who are my teachers. along with Javier del Cueto, Adan Paredes and Rufina Ruiz Lopez. |
