In the age of social media, the representation of intimacy and festivity has mutated.
towards the ephemeral and the selective. "Master Stories" proposes a dialogue between tradition
pictorial and contemporary digital culture, taking classical paintings as a starting point
such as Rubens's "The Feast of Venus" and other works that have captured scenes of
celebration and sensuality without restrictions.
Through fragments of these compositions transferred to small frames
vertical layout format—simulating the format of Instagram stories—
creates a parallel between the way the old masters portrayed the festive and
how we select what to share today and with whom. Each piece also incorporates the template
visual of an Instagram story, in which the "best friends" icon frames the
scene, suggesting a new layer of privacy and exclusion.
