Summary of the original work
Sizes: 116 cm wide x 89 cm high.
Year: 2021
This is the story of a large canvas that I bought in case one day I dared to test my patience, my perseverance and my ability to maintain passion with an image. I have so little time, that I have become used to the almost immediacy: I see something that I like, I paint it, and on many occasions I even forget it weeks later.
This canvas was designed to work without haste, suffer it and enjoy it in equal parts if it was necessary, and put my “fidelity” to a work to the test. Until now, if you left a painting halfway, it was cannon fodder to be repainted with another on top.
This summer I found an image in which I knew I could get lost. The emotions that she transmitted to me the first time I saw her have been changing, as well as the variations that I have been incorporating. You cannot even imagine the drastic changes that it has undergone: red background, strings, scribbles, there was even a moment when I considered painting all the hands (I hate them to death!) Even the gloves have gone through different lives .
I want to thank Carlos Torreblanca (@ carlostorreblanca.pics) for giving me his image so kindly and for having given me the freedom to interpret it in my own way. In the same way, nothing would have been possible without the models to which I have modified some signs of identity: from fingerprints to tattoos. I hope you don't mind! @mignnone, @yuri_amzer, @ 93demi, @goakkore
A month ago I started another painting that drives me crazy in every way and I incorporated some unsuccessful changes in my technique. Bottom line: I've screwed it up and can't do anything until it's dry. It was then that I decided to give this one another twist, until at one point I looked at it and thought: I love it as it is. As my tastes oscillate at the same rate as my self-esteem, I let a couple of days go by to see him again, but I felt the same. However, I am sorry to put a full stop to this painting. We'll see…
The moral is that even if things get complicated for us, we must not give up. Art is made up of second, third and tenth chances. This is continuous learning from which we never graduate.
I am very sorry for the quality of my photos. I promise that live wins a lot or at least I hope so.
P.S. I have not decided yet if I like it more vertically or horizontally ...
