"Intercultural shooting" Acrylic on canvas 100cmx100cm. Photographers are for me a mixture of artists and magicians to whom I at least owe the 75% of the result of my paintings, given that I rely on their work: sometimes knowing the authorship and many times remaining with the desire to know who was hiding on the other side of the camera because they are photographs that I find browsing the internet. Photographers are able to capture unique moments, images that would go unnoticed by the eyes of the majority and that not only show beauty, but often transmit much more information than any text. As they say: "a picture is worth a thousand words". And the images that speak to me, are those that I try to represent in my works with more or less success, but with much emotion. And all this roll of truisms where it takes us and what does it have to do with the painting in question? Well, it's very simple: when I saw the image I relied on for this painting, I inevitably thought about that photographer (I do not know who he is) who moved miles away from his zone of safety and comfort to achieve impressive images to share with the world. I do not doubt that it also took learning, personal and cultural growth, a broader openness of mind that can only be achieved by traveling and interacting with such opposed cultures from so close, trying to empathize or at least understand. Maybe I idealize that kind of moments too much, but I prefer to continue living with that almost childlike illusion. Although what intrigue me most caused the image on which I relied for this picture is not the adventure that supposedly lived the photographer. Nor is it what it would have meant for our protagonist that someone from the other side of the world and almost from another planet, look at her with curiosity, take a step back and kneel to do something with an unknown contraption ... More curiosity still causes me to know if He showed him the image and what could have passed through his mind when he saw himself reflected. What led me to realize this painting was to imagine that moment as something unique and even magical that crossed the life of both. One click ... "An intercultural shot"

    Summary

"Intercultural shooting" Acrylic on canvas 100cmx100cm. I loved painting this painting! It is a very special work in terms of size, style, theme, colors, etc ... and I know it is a striking image, difficult to fit anywhere. I also know that this work is one of those that will sooner or later leave me that mixture of grief and joy every time I say goodbye to one of my paintings, and I'm sure that their new home will be a very special place from where those giant eyes can continue scrutinizing whoever crosses his path, as he has done with me every time I enter the studio from the first day I started painting it.
