In this mixed media work, I wanted to explore the depth and richness that can be achieved by fusing diverse textures on the canvas. Each layer of material, carefully chosen and applied, seeks to transmit a sensory, almost tactile, experience that invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the world of the work. I chose the title in honor of Mineko Iwasaki, the legendary Kyoto geisha who, in the 60s and 70s, redefined elegance and mastery in the art of entertainment. Her life, full of nuances and complexity, is the inspiration behind each stroke and texture in this piece. Through her, I wanted to capture not only the image of an exceptional woman, but also the essence of an era and a tradition that she embodied with such fervor.
