Summary of the original work
Sizes: 28,5 cm wide x 20 cm high.
Year: 2020
The new normality gives us situations that we would never have considered, such as someone who you just met asking you to take off your mask to see your full face and stop to look and praise the shape of your lips as if it were the best kept secret, with a brutal adrenaline rush due to the recklessness of the act, for which we have taken a step back to better keep our distance.
I guess hooking up with a stranger right now must be at the same level of danger as unprotected sex or worse.
All this would be part of a morbid moment if it were not because the person who asked to know my face was a woman and my nervous speech while "undressing" seemed to be taken from a script of "Aida".
You will think that it is an enormous nonsense, but the use of a mask and the half anonymity that it brings makes me dare to try new shades and makeup styles for the eyes, which means that I am painted as a Drag Queen about to go on stage from nose to nose, while the rest of the face is clean and immaculate. Can you imagine the contrast when you see my full face ... Oops !!! Caught like a maruja who comes out super dressed with a party dress with sequins, heels and the most comfortable panties she has (which are usually the oldest) claiming a: "as no one is going to see them ..." and ends up in a room emergency room revealing that secret.
PS: I have to thank @ lucastudio.art for providing his photography to carry out this painting. Thank you very much for putting an image to this reflection !!!!
