Biography: |
I was born in Caracas, I am Venezuelan. Since I was a child I always showed interest in drawing and painting and instead of going out to play with the neighbors I stayed at home drawing or making little animals with clay. I have always been good with my hands. My parents, seeing this, enrolled me in every drawing and painting course they could find around. So, from course to course and from workshop to workshop, I discovered charcoal, brushes, oil paint and the smell of turpentine (which I love by the way!).
From 1990 to 1994 I studied art at the Federico Brandt Art Institute in Caracas. This private institute had a very good reputation and its teaching staff included the best artists of the time. Samuel Baroni, Maria Eugenia Manrique, Luis Lizardo, Luis Pannier, Octavio Russo and Onofre Frias, who was my drawing and painting teacher, were there. Since then I have exhibited in various individual and collective exhibitions: 1997 Studies. Exhibition hall of the Alliance Française in Caracas, Venezuela. 1998 Pastels. Exhibition hall of the Alliance Française in Caracas, Venezuela. 2002 The invisible mirror. Ateneo del Hatillo, Caracas, Venezuela 2003 Visual persuasion. Simon Bolivar University Library, Caracas 2004 2 x 8. Exhibition hall of the Colegio Francia, Caracas 2005 Nature for a reunion. Okio Gallery, Caracas Since 2006 I have been living in Rouen, Normandy, France, where I have exhibited several times at the Salon des Artistes Normands. I am therefore a member of « La Socièté des Artistes Normands ». 2015-2017 Salon de la Ville de Canteleu. I have recently moved to the city of Tulle in Corrèze, in south central France. |
