Resumen de la obra original
Año: 2024
Introduction:
My name is Mariam Chikvaidze, a visual artist and designer originally from Tbilisi, Georgia. Currently, I reside in New York City. I hold both a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, specializing in "Jewelry and Decorative Plastic Arts." My artistic journey was inspired early on by my father, a painter, whose influence has been a cornerstone of my creative development.
Mixed-Media Artwork:
My work often combines various materials and techniques, resulting in unique and diverse creations. I primarily focus on wall-mounted decorations and sculptures that blend contemporary and classical elements. My goal is to create pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also provoke intellectual and emotional engagement with the viewer.
Exhibitions and Professional Experience:
Participated in the international design project "HELP TO THINK" (2013), led by Professor Claudio Vagnoni from the Rome Academy of Fine Arts. This project provided invaluable experience in exchanging creative ideas on a global platform.
Held a solo exhibition in 2024 titled "Copper Art Transformation," showcasing mixed-media wall decorations and sculptures.
Contributed to the "Tbilisi Association of Sculptors and Architects" project "Tbilisi Souvenir" (2024), where my work was awarded first place.
Created a decorative sculpture inspired by the cityscape of Sighnaghi for the Sighnaghi Festival in 2024.
Participated in the "Tbilisi International Summit of Craft and Designer Ethno FEST" (2024), presenting Georgian national artworks and attending a lecture by Nadja Zerunian.
Exhibited in a group show at "Wihhgallery" in Amsterdam, titled "Georgian Art Emotion" (2024).
Sources of Inspiration:
My primary sources of inspiration include nature, urban architecture, and the nuances of everyday life. I believe that even the simplest details can reveal profound beauty and meaning. Through my work, I aim to convey the depth of light and shadow, textures, and forms, inviting the viewer into new dimensions of perception.
Direction and Vision:
My artistic mission is to synthesize traditional and contemporary elements, creating pieces that inspire and offer fresh perspectives to the audience. I view artistic growth as a continuous process, fueled by embracing new challenges and expanding creative horizons.
Conclusion:
My art combines technical mastery, innovative approaches, and emotional depth. Through my creations, I strive to deliver unique artistic experiences that inspire and captivate viewers, leaving a lasting impression.
The use of a wide range of colors in the enamel might reflect the complexity of the horse’s inner world—emotions, thoughts, and dreams—suggesting that beneath the powerful exterior lies a rich landscape of feeling and contemplation. The vibrant hues could represent the full spectrum of experiences, from calm serenity (soft blues and greens) to passionate intensity (bold reds and yellows), all contained within the horse’s being.
