For the last 30 years, Carlos has worked hand in hand with designers specializing in ecclesiastical spaces in Asia as well as in Spain. His most recent and on-going working relationship is with Talleres de Arte GRANDA (GRANDA Liturgical Arts) in Madrid, having collaborated with them in their various projects around Spain, Europe and the U.S. He has also worked independently and has had his paintings installed in 2 churches which are part of Spanish National Heritage. His body of work as a painter of religious and devotional paintings is characterized by a very traditional, realist style with clear influences from the Old Masters, yet with a distinct contemporary edge.
His work in non-religious painting consists of figurative representations in the portrait, still life, and figure genres, also clearly influenced by masters from the 16th century as well as Western painting from the 19th and 20th century Academic traditions. His paintings proudly form part of private collections in Asia, the U.S. and Europe. |
