Kathy Marín, born in Zaragoza on January 14, 1978
Self-taught painter. She completed her primary education studies at the Padre Enrique de Ossó school and as a child she began to be interested in drawing. She decides to postpone them by being a mother at an early age and moves to Barcelona with her family, where she resides for twenty-four years. There she resumed her studies and worked as a nursing assistant, later on she obtained the university entrance exam starting her degree in psychology but decided to abandon it when she realized that it had nothing to do with what she enjoyed, which was art. He began to draw with charcoal in 1993 and in 2007 with oil, he attended painting classes for two years in the town where he lived, Esparraguera. She has made some paintings with acrylic and watercolor, she does not rule out starting to use other artistic techniques but oil is what she feels most comfortable with, it began as a curious hobby for her but she soon realized that art had always been part of his life. He confesses that despite the difficulties he encounters on a daily basis, he ends up immersing himself in each project that he begins and manages to feel great personal satisfaction once his goal has been captured on the canvas. She recognizes that she often sets unattainable goals and cannot advance as fast as she would like, but even so, her determination, attention and desire to improve are what push her to continue learning for herself. Whenever he has a project in mind, he says there is a person behind each of his ideas and confesses that he feels full when he manages to penetrate the soul of those who observe his works. He moved to Gran Canaria in 2016, resides in a small town on the island, Ingenio. In the town square where he had breakfast every morning is where he comes up with the name for his website, the painter from Ingenio, the island inspires him and that is when he decides to dedicate himself completely to painting. He exhibits his works in the library of the town where he moved later, Santa Lucía de Tirajana. In 2019 he moved to Huesca, where he currently resides and exhibits his paintings at the El Origen restaurant, by Beatriz Allue. In September 2020 he participates in the collective exhibition of contemporary art Abartium Gallery, Barcelona, with Sirio, his recently completed project, a series of five works that reflects the state a person goes through after a break, death or other reasons that they lead him to live a duel in the most absolute solitude. His project started, Chivas, a gallery of five works in which he intends to give his vision about the functioning of the universe. Currently working on the third in the series. He began to write in 2013, about to publish his first literary work, Memories of a goddess, when reality surpasses fiction, with Universo de Letras, from the Planeta group, it will include some of his paintings, thus combining in his future projects as a writer her great passion for painting. |
