Norberto D'Abreu was born in Venezuela in 1956, of Portuguese parents, he receives all his culture and tradition, mixing it with the colors and customs of the land where he was born.
Starting in painting with the nephew of the famous Spanish Painter Jose Maria Sert, also a Madrid Painter Alfonso de la Vega who initiates him from an early age in Art. He studies drawing, advertising and decoration in Caracas. In his search to expand his knowledge, he traveled to Spain where he also studied Ceramics, Photography, Fashion Design, Landscaping, Museology, in different Academies such as the Círculo de Bellas Artes, Academia Artium, Academia Arjona, Academia de Artes y Oficios, and in the Atelier of the famous Spanish painter Rogelio García Vasquez, who in addition to being a teacher and friend, transmits his knowledge, which he absorbs and makes his own, its peculiar colors, the way of seeing the human figure, studying and being inspired by Spanish and European painters. Sorolla with light and color, Velásquez with his perspectives, the French Impressionist palettes (their colors that are masterfully mixed), creating in him a symbiosis in his particular and beautiful style, making him a Master of Colour. He returns to Venezuela, where after innumerable activities in the cultural sphere of that country, as an illustrator, textile and graphic designer and fashion designer, he sets up his Atelier de ARTE, where he teaches drawing, painting and art history classes for young students. art or architecture students, and anyone who wanted to share their knowledge and experiences and where he also created his impressive works, full of color, composition, light and shadow, where their faces emerge from the canvas, creating a magical realism between the creator and the viewer. It is from 2013, that he travels between Europe and Venezuela, where after several exhibitions, he decides to settle in Portugal, so full of traditions that are his own, where he pours all his knowledge, his palette, his feelings, in his Atelier and in his Exhibitions, to surprise us again in each sample with his works, portraits, stories of characters, women, life. Making him a Master of Painting, who tells us with lights and colors stories written with brushes. |
