ABOUT VIRGINIA BORRUEL
Born in Madrid and raised in Buenos Aires. Since she was a girl she loved to paint and draw, and almost all artistic expressions. Virginia achieved an outstanding career in finance, as the art path was always perceived as a second choice. Accountant + Master in Economic History (UBA) + double degree in MBA (ITBA / EOI). She joined the banking industry living between Barcelona and Buenos Aires, places where they spent several years building her career in energy and wealth management. At the same time, he did not neglect the plastic arts and developed in different painting and sculpture workshops in Buenos Aires and Barcelona, and studies carried out at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires. In 2020 Virginia lost interest in the corporate world and became a full time artist. Artistic Statement: Virginia's varied collections in seemingly different styles –Colors –Figures –Lines come together through a focus on color. All her paintings have color as a common factor regardless of the material or support in which she works, the curves can be seen as the connecting thread between them, almost imperceptible. She works primarily in oil and has been Virginia's dominant medium for years, although she has also dabbled in acrylic and mixed media using different materials to achieve more controlled texture and relief.
